COMPATIBILITY ISSUES

FAXPak Library for Clipper is compatible with Intel fax boards (the SatisFAX-
tion board and the Connection Coprocessor). Other fax boards which claim to
be CAS compatible may work as well, but this has NOT been tested.

There have been at least THREE releases of CAS (Communicatiting Application
Specification): version 1.0, 1.0b, and 1.2. The differences are minor but
FPCLIP has one feature that will ONLY work with version 1.2 (or later).
This function is the ability to DELETE files after they have been faxed.

Although it can be confusing, the version of CAS is NOT NECESSARILY the
same as the version of the fax board software. As an unfortunate example,
the Intel SatisFAXtion comes with a CAS manager program called (oddly
enough) CASMGR.EXE. The original release of this program was CASMGR 1.0.
HOWEVER, this program supported CAS 1.2.

Other CAS compatible fax boards may have similar confusing versions so
if the DELETE files function doesn't work for you, perhaps your fax board
doesn't support CAS version 1.2 (or later)!
